Paul Spannenberg (1954) Artist, Designer From 1998, Paul Spannenberg attended various workshops, among others, Van Tetterode in Amsterdam, which is how he discovered the craft of the glass master. Spannenberg is interested in the optical effect of glass. He uses variety of thickness, inner and outer shape and refraction of light. The use of shards of glass can often be found in Spannenberg's work. He makes utilitarian glass such as vases and bowls, but also makes objects that only refer to utilitarian glass in form. In addition to his work as a glass artist, Spannenberg also teaches at the Academy of Visual Arts and Design in Arnhem.
