Collection of fourteen 19th century cartes de visite, two extremely rare:
Edward Vaughan Hyde Kenealy an Irish barrister and writer, best remembered as counsel for the Tichborne claimant - photographed by John Jabez Edwin Paisley Mayall the English photographer who in 1860 took the first carte de visite photographs of Queen Victoria. He is most well known for his 1875 portrait of Karl Marx. Mid 19th century, 10 x 6cm. Princess Helena (Helena Augusta Victoria; 25 May 1846 – 9 June 1923), later Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein, was the third daughter and fifth child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert photographed by Count Sergei Lvovich Levitsky who is considered one of the patriarchs of Russian photography and one of Europe's most important early photographic pioneers, inventors and innovators, photograph taken at 22 rue de Choiseul in Paris where he operated from between 1859 and 1864.
