The Chianti Classico Riserva red wine from Fèlsina, produced by the Poggiali family's winery since 1966, uses a blend of Sangiovese grapes from the Rancia vineyard, an ancient estate established on the site of a pre-existing Benedictine monastery. After selecting and destemming the grapes, fermentation begins between 28°C and 30°C. The entire maceration process takes place in stainless steel tanks for 16-20 days with automated punch-downs and daily pump-overs. In March-April, the new wine is transferred to new French oak barrels, and after 18-20 months of maturation, blending and bottling follow. Aging in glass ensures refinement for at least 6-8 months before commercialization. It has a ruby red color. On the nose, it's spicy with floral hints and notes of small red fruits, intertwined with mineral and toasty sensations. On the palate, it's spicy and silky, with young and soft tannins that release decisiveness and strength in the finish. A slight acidic note lingers on the palate. Alc. 13,5%
