Nobuyoshi Araki was born in Tokyo on May 25, 1940. " Japan's leading photographer and contemporary artist, nicknamed "Genius Alarchy". After graduating from the Department of Photo Printing Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chiba University, he joined the advertising agency Dentsu. It was after the photo book about the death of his wife Yoko, "Sentimental Journey and Winter Journey" (1991) that gained widespread recognition. After the loss of his beloved wife, he has established a unique photographic world with bewitching flowers, bondage nudes, skyscapes, meals, the city of Tokyo, domestic cats, and a unique photographic world with intense eros (raw/sex) and Tanatos (death) drifting from various subjects. He continues to hold many solo exhibitions at home and abroad, including Taka Ishii Gallery and Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
