This flag reads "祈武運長久 Ki-Buun-Choukyu".
These Kanji characters are the most commonly used for Yosegaki flags. Although it is only 5 kanji characters, it is such a wonderful word for soldiers, full of power.
It means, "Good luck on the battlefield, and come home alive!"
It is a very powerful phrase that is full of energy and power.
On the Furoshiki, "忠君愛国 Chukun-aikoku" is written.
This means "pledge allegiance to the nation of Japan and fight for your country".
The Military Personal Handbook contains a lot of personal information about the young soldier. Education, grades, enlistment history, etc. It also contains his address. Ochi County, Ehime Prefecture. This is the location of a cluster of small islands in the Seto Inland Sea.
These are very old, but in excellent condition and well preserved.
The text on the cloth and paper is clearly legible and provides insight into the past.
They will be carefully packed and shipped overseas from Japan.
Other rare items are also available in my current auction.
