The ''Tronchetto'' flower vase, a creation by renowned designer Andrea Branzi for Alessi, is a captivating piece that invites diverse interpretations depending on the observer's perspective. This unique object transforms into a cross when adorned with a flower, taking on a symbolic significance that transcends religious contexts. According to Branzi, it embodies an ambient sign capable of autonomously altering the meaning of a space, tapping into an ancient, universal language. The ''Tronchetto'' vase stands as a testament to Branzi's ability to infuse humble objects with profound meaning, creating a harmonious blend of contemporary design and timeless symbolism. Branzi reacted to the ''Tronchetto'' creation: “I am not sure if this object can represent a new access to Wonderland for Alice.
