Chancay kultur Blonder av bomullsgaze Vevd hodeduk. Spansk eksportlisens - 103 cm

Thinly woven Artwork Textile Tapestry held together on a canvas sheet that can be removed from the artwork. A beautiful woven head-cloth made with panels of gauze weave joined with ornitomorphic figures . It has a very intricate and odd design that makes this particular piece very unique. The added embroidered outlines follow around the figures; cotton warp and weft threads, highly over-twisted. Very good condition. Woven with one of the emblematic ¨Openwork Technique¨ ultimately derived from the ancient coastal fishing tradition of net making, which reached new heights of laced intricacy. Used for protection to avoid evil spirits. Executed in a virtuoso manner. The weaver could see the motifs during their creation because the threads pulled together where not under the tension of the loom. Hence, when the weaver removed the finished textile from the loom, its designs became clearly visible. Artwork with well-documented legal provenance and Spanish Historical Patrimony Export Certificate. The Ministry of Culture from Spain asks all sellers for invoices or other documentation able to prove the legality of each item before providing an import or export license. Family Heirloom Private Collection Ex. Dr Rivadeneyra collection, Berlin late 1960s to early 1970s. To present owner by descent. Collected through the years by my father Dr. Jose Rivadeneyra Leon and by my grandfather Engr. Julio Rivadeneyra who lived in northern Peru central coast near Chiclayo. Privately purchased and/or gifted by family members who loved collecting like his cousin, Carlos Williams Leon who was a Peruvian renowned architect and archeologist. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Williams_Le%C3%B3n Most of the collection was taken to Berlin in 1969 where my father was doing medical research.
