The bird is portrayed in a naturalistic manner and displays good retention of its features. A comb sits above its head whilst the full wings are kept close to the body. Traces of the original orange and red pigments visible to the head and neck. Such figurines were made as burial objects and grave goods to be placed in the tomb, often as a larger group forming a procession for the deceased. No further tests, such as, a TL test, an analysis of pigments or radiography scans have been conducted to check the integrity of the piece.
