He often imitated Kuniyoshi’s style, drawing samurai paintings, flower and bird paintings, and was good at Caricature. "Tokaido Famous Scenery( 東海道名所之内)" is a nishiki-e depicting the 14th Shogun of the Edo Shogunate, Tokugawa Iemochi, going to Kyoto in 1863, and is also called "Gojo Raku Tokaido(御上洛海道)" or "Procession Tokaido(行列東海道)". Iemochi Tokugawa went to Kyoto for the first time in 229 years since the third shogun, Tokugawa Iemitsu, in July 1634. He left Edo on February 13, 1863 (March 31, 1863) and arrived at Nijo Castle in Kyoto on March 4, 1863 (April 21, 1863). "Tokaido Famous Scenes" was drawn by 16 ukiyo-e artists such as Toyokuni III, Hiroshige II, and Kawanabe Kyosai.
