The icon is in very good condition. The Feast of the Ascension is the feast that completes the work of our salvation. With the ascension, all the events related to this event - the birth of Christ, his sufferings and resurrection - end. In fact, when we read in the Gospel and in the Acts of the Apostles the story of the ascension of the Lord, we are left with the same impression: only a few words are dedicated to the very fact of the ascension, which establish and define the influence of God and worry. His glory is represented iconographically in the form of a nim - an oval or circle consisting of several concentric circles, symbolizing the spiritual sky. This symbolism indicates that the ascending savior is beyond the dimensions of earthly existence, and thus the ascension takes on an untimely character, which in turn gives a very special meaning to the details. In the foreground of the icon is depicted Christ between two angels. Here the role of angels is different: they are messengers of divine providence. But the ascension of the icon of the Lord has another meaning. The two angels pointing to the savior announce to the apostles that the ascended Christ will come again in glory.
