Halpern photographed Los Angeles as a site of fantasy that reflects the city’s ironies, chaos, and paradoxes. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Halpern was born in Buffalo, New York. He has published six books of photographs. He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and is an Associate Member of Magnum Photos. He teaches photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
