Fran González

Fran González is a Spanish artist born in Almería in 1959 whose practice is also known as "Contemporary Gilding". His artistic research is focused on the reinterpretation of gilding as a contemporary luxury language, where gold leaf (imitation or authentic) is used as an expressive and symbolic material, beyond its ornamental value. His career began in 1982 when, after studying Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, he decided to dedicate himself full-time to Sculpture and Ceramics.
