Opel Olympia of construction year 1949 One of the Opel Olympia's, which were built between 1947 and 1949. The reliable 1500 cc 4 cylinder engine was used for years, also in the later types. In contrast with the later models Olympia with 3 gears on the steering wheel, this model has the 4-speed floor shift. The here offered Opel was delivered new in Germany in 1949. In 1995 the car was imported to Belgium, where it was thoroughly restored by the current owner. Everything was addressed; the whole bodywork was made bald and professionally repainted in the original dark blue factory color. Striking was that there was virtually no welding necessary to the body. The technique was also addressed. Motor and gearbox are overhauled. The beautiful interior is completely renewed and equipped with new original striped fabric. More recently, the brakes again were addressed and fitted with new parts. The car is quite a nice drive and feels reliable and solid. This is a very beautiful and detailed original Opel Olympia, hard to find in this condition. A nice classic for a sound investment. The car is viewable in Valkenswaard and it is recommended to do so before making a bid. This to avoid discussions afterwards. This Opel currently has a Belgian registration but can, if desired, be given a Dutch license plate with new inspection (APK). Transport of the vehicle abroad can be arranged in consultation.
