History in 1975, the I-Convert type is the top motorcycle made by Moto Guzzi at Mandello del Lario, Italy, for the torque converter and automatic two-speed gearbox, its engine size (1,000 cc, firstly on a Moto Guzzi bike), and integral brake system. I-Convert is also the first among the Guzzi 1000cc bikes to mount "round cylinders" (as the later SP version from 1978 and the coeval G5 type). Automatic two-speed transmission with only two gear ratios: the first one allows speeds from 0 to 130 km/h, the second from 0 to 170 km/h. That's why there’s still a gear lever on the bike’s left side. The clutch lever is a safety device that is activated at the first start to avoid any sudden movement of the motorcycle, forcing the driver to hold both hands on the handlebars.
