Four vintage barometers: Swift Inc. U.S. - Huger W. Germany - West Wood - Aneroid Barometer

1) Barometer made in Boston (U.S.) by Swift Instruments Inc. in the 1960s, in good condition considering its age. Numerous oxidation signs on the metal (brass or brass-plated metal). Size: 13 cm - base: 9.5 cm at the glass cover frame. Height (including ring): 17.5 cm. Thickness: 3 cm. With light grey dial, black lettering and black hand. Green reference hand. Dial marked "Compensated English Barometer". Dial and glass cover in excellent condition. Base cover with hole for wall hanging. Manufactured by Swift Instruments Inc. An American company still in business, specialising in the manufacture of microscopes and instruments (now) electronic also for meteorological control. Collectible item (given its origin) but it can also be used as a decoration or an instrument. In the second case you need a respectable tool. 2) the second barometer dates back to the 1950s (by Huger - West Germany). Round shape. Diameter: 18 cm (container) and 13 cm (instrument). Maximum height, including the hook ring: 22 cm. The container is made of wood, showing wear and tear signs that can be corrected with simple waxing. Quite an unusual item (impossible to find on the web or at auctions), being devoid of its traditional dial. The Italian lettering are directly imprinted on the crystal cover. Consequently the internal container of the item, gold colour, highlights the entire mechanism. Perfect glass. The front shows the mark “Huger” and on the back “Interoptica”. 3) Barometer of the German traditional, made in Germany in the 1940s by Westwood (marked in the lower centre). The container, not in need of polishing, is made of wood. Has considerable vintage charm. Maximum (outer) diameter 22 cm. Diameter of the instrument approx. 20 cm. Thickness: 3.5 cm. The dial, gold-coloured, and the glass cover are flawless, no scratches/marks. The measuring hand is red. Golden reference hand. 4) the fourth item, unfortunately in poor general condition, it is absolutely unusual. The manufacturer is not known (the only words on the white dial, with elegant Central colouring in light blue, blue and gold, is "aneroid barometer"). The typefaces lead me to assume its origin is English or German. The dial diameter 12.5 cm; the enclosure is in heavy metal (probably brass) with a unique barrel shape and a diameter of up to 16.5 cm. Overall weight is approx. 1.8 kg; the height from the base is 11.5 Unfortunately there’s no cover glass (which originally probably could be opened). The second hand is folded and there are three unexplained holes on one side (see details in the photos).
