Volkswagen - 1302 Beetle "Holzhaus" - NO RESERVE - 1970

- Vetro Piatto model from 1970. - Designed and built in 1995 by a group of Alpine craftsmen maintaining the original chassis. - Completely made from carved and hand-painted solid wood. - Working internal fireplace. - Certified tow bar. - Code B 1,600 cc engine in working order. - Published in magazines and newspapers. This Volkswagen was born as a 1970 model 1302, however in 1995 it was used as the basis for a 'Travelling Shelter' project: the bodywork was modified and rebuilt with the addition of a solid wood 'house-shaped' structure, complete with a sofa, working kitchenette with fireplace and windows that open! See all details and finishes: a work of passion and care taken in all its details. It was used by the previous owner as a base for the Alpine Club during rallies and parties and festivals, also as a mobile bar and ticket office and during Volkswagen rallies; it was very successful and was photographed in many magazines and newspapers of the time (see photo). It has been built remaining in the shape of the vehicle without protrusions. The bodywork is very solid and maintains the original chassis, it was also all hand-painted in 1995 and is very well presented with minimal signs of normal use; The solid wood interior was hand-carved and custom made and is in excellent condition: like the furniture, the fireplace and the entire roof with real water gutter and insulating tiles The underbody is solid and the engine (B code - 1600cc) was recently restarted and the car starts with the key and the engine runs very well, however the technical inspection is over and normal maintenance is required for use on street. It is an excellent opportunity for a unique vehicle, also for travelling street food, bars, pubs and much more for parties and festivals: it is also equipped with an approved tow hook for being able to tow small trailers. Some videos of the car and its engine are available, please contact Catawiki. A high resolution photo gallery is also available and is part of this description on the seller’s website. Please ask Catawiki. We can arrange the transfer of ownership or export documents remotely. Affordable shipping to Italy, Europe and the rest of the world. You can also conveniently pick up the car on site, as it can stay at our storage facility for 15 days free of charge. We recommend viewing the vehicle before the end of the auction, even via a video call on your smartphone (WhatsApp, FaceTime). Please send a message to Catawiki for an appointment. The seller reserves the right to claim compensation if the buyer does not pay for the purchase, which shall automatically be deemed to have occurred with the winning bid and obliges the buyer to make the payment, as per the sales contract available on the seller’s website.
