Some history on Bulova: Founded in 1875 in New York City by Joseph Bulova, the company revolutionized watchmaking with its standardized mass production techniques. Bulova quickly became synonymous with innovation, introducing the first complete men's watch line in 1927 and establishing an observatory for precise timekeeping. The brand broke new ground in marketing with the first radio and television advertisements in 1926 and 1941, respectively. The 1960s saw the launch of the Bulova Accutron, the first electronic watch, which utilized a tuning fork instead of a traditional balance wheel for timekeeping. This innovation was significant enough to make the Accutron a presidential gift to world leaders and dignitaries. The Accutron's precision was further validated when it became the first wristwatch certified for use by railroad personnel in 1962. Bulova's legacy extended to space, with its technology used during the Apollo missions, including an Accutron on the moon and a chronograph worn on the lunar surface during Apollo 15, later auctioned for more than $1.6 million. A very well-known and established high end brand indeed!
