The first kuniada, originally named Hashimoto Shinzaemon, was one of the most prominent swordsmiths of the Shinshinto period. After losing his family at a young age during the Okita Nawate battle, Kunitada embraced the art of sword-making under the protection of the Nabeshima clan in Saga. He flourished and was later honored with the title of Musashi Daijo. The katana features a quince-shaped tachi tsuba and a handle with the well-known Mitsuba Aoi (three-leaf hollyhock) crest of the Tokugawa family. The scabbard, elegantly covered in fabric, is fitted with various parts including a helmet, a collar, foot metal, and a belt, enhancing its aesthetic and historical value. This sword comes with a copy of its Firearms and Swords Registration Certificate, the original having been duly returned to the authorities. The details indicating its registered status with Miyazaki Prefecture (No. 19710). It measures approximately 69.1 cm in length with a curvature of 3.2 cm, and features one peg hole. The tang is inscribed with "Hizenkoku Tadayoshi" and was officially registered on December 25, 1972. Please note, due to size restrictions, this item cannot be shipped to Spain.
