Lampa (2) - Latarnie świątynne 行灯 (andon) - Lakier, Papier washi
Pair of fantastic red lacquered wooden temple lanterns 行灯 (andon), fully restored, showcases elegant chrysanthemum-shaped 菊 (kiku) details. Each lantern features a removable shade designed with delicately shaped ribs. They stand on fluted columns, each based on a chrysanthemum-shaped foot. Notably, one of the lanterns bears a dated inscription: ‘April, Shôwa 60’ 昭和六十年四月, indicating it was marked in April of 1985.
When lit, the fine washi-paper gives a lovely warm glow.
The lamps are equipped with a newly electrified CE-fitting. No lamp bulbs included.
Dimensions:
Height 92 cm, Diameter lamp shade 29 cm, diameter foot 17.5 cm.
The washi-paper has been completely restored, and the frame itself is in a very good condition. Please look at the photos for a condition reference.
As these paper lamp shades are very delicate, we will make a custom wooden crate for transport.
When shipped we will add a certificate of authenticity.
