Porsche - 911 Carrera- Turbo specs - 1977

***This lot benefits from a reduced buyer's protection fee of 4.5% (instead of 9%) which will be arranged for the winning bidder after the closing of the auction. You will be approached by a sales team one working day after the auction has ended. They will help you further with the discount*** HISTORY back in the eighties Spain was opening their frontiers after several years of dictatorship. European cars were allowed to be imported finally. When importing a car you had to pay the Luxury good tax that was 33% of the price. This particular car started her life as a 1976 Porsche 3.0 Carrera. Owner wanted to change it for a 930 turbo but the import taxes and luxury tax made the change very expensive. He then flew to Stuttgart, bought a 1981 Porsche 911 turbo (bought it tax free) and drove it back to Spain, he smuggled the car through border and then changed all the parts from the Turbo to its Spanish Carrera 3.0. All the above could sound a bit strange nowadays but was a fairly common practice on those days when importing a car meant to pay almost a 50% surcharge because of taxes. BODYWORK The car resurfaced some years ago and was completely restored. Body was peeled to bare metal and then carefully painted black. MECHANICS Suspension, brakes, wheels and tyres were renewed. Engine was stripped down and rebuilt with new turbocharger less than 1,000 kms ago. New pistons and cylinders were mounted, new crankshaft and rods bearings, all valves changed. Car comes with a recent inspection and new Pirelli tyres were fitted. INTERIOR All the interior(leather seats, panels and carpets) has been done new. LOCATION The car is currently located in Madrid, Spain. #HVLcampaign
