One of the rarest sewing machines, very hard to come by. The Improved Singer was made and sold by a former employee of The Singer Company in 1882. Of course, Singer filed a lawsuit against him for abusing its name and won. This case was also the beginning of our modern trade mark law. Lock without key, lock plate has been removed but is included in the lot, a new (cover) lock and it will open like before.
