A great sounding and playing collectors guitar: The Sakai Cameo de Luxe guitar from the mid sixties. Made by 'Sakai': one of the prominent guitar makers from the 60's and 70's in Japan. 1. Great powerful pickups reminiscent of the P90's from Gibson; Great blues sound. 2. It still has its original tremolo arm. 3. Very easy to play. The neck is straight, almost no fret-ware and a low action. 4. All parts are original except the new volume and tone knobs. The originals would have been 'top hat' style which are available on the internet for a couple of euro's. The new metal ones work even better and look the part. 5. 50 years old and still going strong. The guitar has been checked over by a professional guitar specialist. He said the neck at some time had begun to dry out, but the superficial slight split that started to show in the late sixties (see photo's) was filled and the fretboard was well oiled. The neck is now in good condition. The jack input although working now may need replacing sometime in the future, simply because of age and use; a simple and cheap Job
