W. Boosman Amsterdam - large antique compass in chest
An antique dry compass by the firm W. Boosman in Amsterdam with serial number 679.
It is a large and heavy compass with a level on the edge of the compass. Also an attachment with magnifying glass and 2 glasses.
However, the 2 glasses came off (see the photos).
Further a gimbal ring that by means of special screws can be secured to the compass. It seems like little bearings fastened around the screw (see photo). The purpose of this is not known to me.
The compass hangs in a compass which originally had a lid on it.

Compass diameter 22 cm
Compass height 14 cm
Gimbal ring diameter 25 cm
Dimensions of the chest: 27 x 27 x 14 cm
Compass weight: 8.3 kg
Weight box 1.1 kg
The compass with chest will be very well packed, insured and be sent by registered post with track and trace code
