Leather bag British Army from 1916 (first world war)
This is a heavy bag of saddle leather with flap on top with two straps and an adjustable lanyard. Dimensions 26 x 21 x 16 cm. Inside not classified. Only at the front and the rear interior a linen strap with clasp. On belt and on other side marked with JAS (James) DAWSON & SON Ltd and the year 1916. Dawson was a "leather supplier to the Army". Bag on upper side and on belt marked with broad arrow. On the side a heavy bolt hook. Possible used in communication equipment.
Condition: leather is good and smooth. Leather is just dust free and not greased. Metal parts not rusted.
