Gorgeous and very rare S.T. Dupont Montparnasse Chairman (large model) fountain pen in a Blue Natural Chinese Lacquer finish with gold plated trims. The pen is of an unnumbered Limited Edition that Diners Club offered to its German members in 1995. Just a very small number of these pens were made. The cap shows the signature of the (previous) owner, making every single pen truly unique. The signature is not engraved, but applied in red lacquer that is perfectly flush with the blue lacquer of the cap; a wonderful example of Dupont's outstanding craftmenship. The warranty card states the model number 411275 / Diners Club and was issued by ST Dupont Germany in december 1995. The pen is fitted with an 18K-750 solid gold 'wrap-around' nib in a Medium point. The Montparnasse was introduced in 1989 by S.T. Dupont as their premier fountain pen model. It came in two sizes; the Chairman being the larger model. It's large, heavy, and even in the plain lacquer finish, very luxurious. The pen measures 140 mm in length (capped), the cap is 15.5 mm in diameter from its cap lip band and the barrel is 13 mm in diameter. Never used or inked and in mint condition. Comes in its original box complete with instruction booklet, warranty card (dated 12/1995), Chiniese Lacquer certificate, box of cartridges (dried out) and converter.
