Superb sandstone ball vase by Alfred Renoleau from 1920 in super condition.

Alfred Renoleau is a French ceramicist born in 1854 and who died in 1930.
Alfred Renoleau was born in Mansle in 1854 and was the son of a barber. It was during his period of 'volunteering' in Paris he discovered the works of Bernard Palissy (French chemist,who introduced the glazed pottery in France, known since then as earthenware. He devoted twenty years of his life to discover the secrets of enamels and cooking techniques.
Roullet-Renoleau earthenware workshop is one of the last factories to work with red earthenware. His productions stand out by the finesse, richness and variety of shapes and decors.
