”Rijserbos, Gaasterland, Friesland”. Painting by the Frisian artist Andries van de Sloot in beautiful condition. Fully signed bottom left. Visible image 29 x 23 cm. The painting is in a beautiful gold / bronze coloured frame with the outer dimensions 46 x 40 cm (4.5 cm deep). It has an off-white inlay (3.5 cm) with a gold-coloured inner piping. Andries van der Sloot was born in Schalsum on 14th March 1883 and died in Leeuwarden on 30th September 1955. Brother of Jentje van der Sloot and father of Bouke van der Sloot. Lived and worked in Leeuwarden, The Hague, Rijswijk (ZH) and from 1909 in Leeuwarden. Attended the Academie van Beeldende Kunst in The Hague. He painted, drew, and etched mostly landscapes. Was known as "the painter of the Frisian landscape”. Member of the Board of the Boun Fan Fryske Keunstners. Van der Sloot's work is in the collection of private individuals and several museums, including the Fries scheepvaartmuseum and the Fries Museum. The work will be carefully packed and -at the expense and risk of the buyer - sent by registered mail by PostNL.
