Barômetro de Vidro de Almirante Fitzroy Storm - Madeira e vidro - Segunda metade do século XX

A beautiful barometer in mint condition Working With thermometer in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit and a storm glass barometer, the seal is still intact. The photos were taken in a period of turbulent weather: the substance in the storm glass is high then and is ' flocked '. In nice weather the level is low and the liquid is clear This barometer is named after Robert Fitzroy, born in Suffolk in 1805. For many years he was captain of the HMS Beagle, which became famous because of the Charles Darwin expeditions. He rose to the rank of Admiral and was later appointed as Governor of New Zealand in 1843. After his retirement in 1850, Fitzroy focused on the meteorology. He designed, among other things, a much improved marine barometer. This weather station is named after him as a tribute. Dated: Estimated to be from the second half of the 20th century Nice detail: in 2004 this barometer was given as a present to Vopak, a centuries-old storage and transhipment company port of Rotterdam.
