Overall dimensions: 25 cm Miniature houses and characters created by Dominique Gault "The magic of the Gault houses originates from the combined talents of 2 brothers: Jean-Pierre, architect, painter and sculptor, and Dominique, designer and businessman. Master craftsmen, sculptors and ceramists joined them to develop this original art form, creating unique and entirely handmade pieces. This new, one of a kind craft technique has been created by Jean-Pierre Gault to make his work of art. The starting point is a Limoges clay, specially processed for this craft technique, from which the house volume will be shaped. All tools and moulds allowing the creation of a house have been built by the studio master craftsmen. The artists have used over 3000 carved moulds. It took two months to build one house, through 14 production stages. Roofs had to be sculpted, balconies and sidewalks moulded. Natural drying, firing at 700°C, rinsing bath with oxides, painting, patina, dust removal, cold glazing at 1000°C and miniaturisation of the facades.
