The painting deserves to be restored.
The painting was once made and donated to Dr ING van Os, by the choir: Cantemus Domino, on the text at the bottom of the frame of the painting you can read: “zijnen president den Zijne Eerwaarde heer Dr IGN van Os Groningen 1896”. On the back of the painting are the names of the choir, mainly retailers from the city of Groningen.
The painting needs to be restored.

Bach was born in the city of Groningen. He generally signed his work with 'F.Bach' or 'FHB’, Bach was a member of Arti et Amicitiae and several years of De Ploeg, Bach as a landscape and portrait painter can be counted among the impressionists of the Hague School. He painted nineteen portraits of professors for the senate room in the Academy Building of the Groningen University. In addition to paintings on canvas, he created numerous Stations of the Cross and murals in Catholic churches in the north, east and south of the Netherlands, such as St. Martin's church (Foxham) ), the Paterskerk (Groningen) and the Juvenaat chapel in Maastricht.
