Beautiful artist's book by Irma Boom. Contrary to most of the books she designed, this book is non-commissioned work. The result is a splendid tribute to the artist she admires: Ellsworth Kelly. She used a work she owns, “Blue Curve (Black State)”. She varies on the work in 76 quires, each with 16 pages. It is as simple as it is effective: on slightly transparent, wafer-thin paper she applied colour areas that, because the paper is so thin, are slightly translucent. The result is an almost poetic artist's book. The book was published in a very limited numbered and signed edition of 99 copies. This is number 55. Beautiful book in custom-made box. It was sold out almost immediately after publication and is now scarce and sought-after!
