Wassily Knoll armchair
The Wassily Knoll armchair, also known as the B3 seat, was designed by Marcel Breuer for the constructivist painter Wassily Kandinsky. At the time (1925), both worked at the Bauhaus school of Dessau. This chair was revolutionary in its use of materials (leather and curved nickel-plated steel tubes) and production methods. It is said that the Breuer Adler bicycle was inspired by this use of steel tubes to create the chair, which was shown to be an excellent material, being widely available in large quantities.
This model from the early '70s, in a beautiful brown natural leather, was in a villa at the foot of the Castle of Brescia, in good condition both in the leather and in the structure. Some darker marks in the leather that characterise it, overall a beautiful preserved item.
