Virtually a complete set of damask linen napkins and that is always a good sign. These would have been a wedding present and after the festivities the napkins would have been put in the large wedding armoire and became part of the trousseaux ( dowry) In many cases the wedding linen would never see the daylight again and instead much more simpler linen would be used in exchange. Only on very special occasions, like child birth, baptism, anniversaries would the linen deck the table and the guest rooms. The initials either B.B. or B.R. are sitting in a frame of large stylistic leaves and are embroidered in high relief and very clearly visible in day light. There are scatterings posy's and there are two further frames of small open roses and edged with smaller leaf compositions.  PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: Due to the sharp increase of fuel prices we had to look for more competitive French transport companies. Honest descriptions and images gives a real vision of the items. The linen that we offer for sale is not new linen, unless specifically mentioned, it is second-hand and old linen. As such it may have already been washed, used or even worn. In spite of the great care we take during the preparation, small imperfections can and may escape us. They do not in any way call into question the unique and rare character of these wonderful pieces. I present you our French Antique linen unwashed, as taken out of the armoire, unless otherwise described . It is all clean, but plan to give it a wash before use.
