This is an excellent bed cover ,but for a single bed.
Not many of these single bed covers were made.
As a rule the beds were not wide in the 18th and 19th Century
and at a maximum with of 1.10 and thus 2 minors would sleep in these widths of bed
to save space as homes were small in those days. And of course wedded couples would also
use this width of beds and there are still plenty of French who still use these dimensions
and particularly in the country.
The design is variation of the classis designs and 3 designs have been used on this bedspread
and all three are framed with 3 rows of pompoms.
The edgings have an attractive finish with oval scallops.
As the bed cover has been in the armoire for a long period it has been dry cleaned and is perfect.
