Adaga Jambiya Iemenita - Prata - Iémen - século 19
The antique Yemeni Jambiya (short curved dagger) from the 19th century. Sheath and handle is covered with silver. Dagger blade is from stainless steel (blade was restored in 1990s). Sheath has fine handcrafted silver decorations.
In Yemen the Jambiya is a symbol of masculinity and adulthood (it is worn as accessory to the clothing). The handle and sheath of the Jambiya tells the owner’s heritage and social status. It is commonly used in traditional south Arabic events.
Approximate weight is 500g (sheath + dagger)
Silver sheath and handle needs cleaning! Blade is stuck in the sheath. It is not possible to draw the dagger from the sheath.
