The manufacturing method for Tosa cutlery has been inherited from the secret free forging method, which was born from Japanese sword making techniques. Forging is the process of heating a metal material to an appropriate high temperature and applying force between the upper and lower anvils using a press or hammer. There is no fixed "mold", so everything is shaped through experience. It takes many years to become a full-fledged craftsman. In May 1998, it was designated as a traditional craft production area by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. 31cm Total 467g (S0996)
