Characteristics: A cloth made of a mixture of raw lacquer and rice paste is pasted onto the wood to strengthen it. This lacquerware is made with an emphasis on ``durability'' and is coated with many thick layers of a base mixture of raw lacquer, rice paste, and fired diatomaceous earth.
