Holanda - Medalha - Mobilisatie Oorlogskruis medal - May 1940 - mobilisatie - Grebbeberg - great patina

Very nice and honest ''Mobilisatie-Oorlogskruis or MOK medal as awarded to some Dutch soldiers for their duties in 1939/1940! The medal has a great patina and is a nice old period example, not a modern restrike. A great medal, 100% original. The medal has a cloth backing marked with the mounter ''F.A. Tack'' and is good condition and is beautifully age-toned. A nice medal. See also our other interesting WW2 items, including Dutch May 1940, that we have on offer on catawiki! History of the MOK The Mobilization War Cross is a Dutch decoration, instituted by Queen Juliana in a Royal Decree of August 11, 1948 and intended for Dutch soldiers and other Dutch nationals who have performed military activities in the interest of the Kingdom between April 6, 1939 and September 3, 1945. A Royal Decree of 19 October 1951 stipulated that no applications could be submitted after 15 November 1951. In a Royal Decree of Queen Beatrix of October 1, 1992, the cross was re-established. C. Dutch nationals or Dutch nationals not falling under A or B, who performed military activities in the interest of the Kingdom during the war. For categories A and B, people had to have been active for at least 6 months within specified periods. The cross could be requested from the "Commission concerning the Mobilization-War Cross" in The Hague, which was installed in February 1949 by Minister of War and Navy Wim Schokking. Chairman was Major General K.E. Oudendijk.
