Born in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture.
In 1961, he became an apprentice to traditional craftsman (dyer) Kofu Yoshida.
1972 Started making woodblock prints
1973: Selected by the Japan Print Association / Selected for the Nichido Hanga Grand Prix / Sankikai Newcomer Award Recommended by members
1990 Masao Ido Exhibition (Chicago) Special Invited Artist to the Graz Art Association Exhibition (Austria)
1996 Kenji Miyazawa 100th Anniversary Hanamaki City Official Poster Design
1999 Established a specified non-profit organization (NPO) Hanamaki Bunkamura / Appointed the chairman of the NPO "Hanamaki Bunkamura Council"
2003: Japan Post releases Kinki version hometown stamps “Kyoto Events” Produces 4 types of original illustrations
“Seeing Kyoto” Masao Ido woodblock print exhibition (Kyoto Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Important Cultural Property Kyodo)
2004 Los Angeles County Museum of Art collection/Weekly Shincho “My Kyoto” (April to May, 4 issues in total)
