The key innovations of the Macintosh SE FDHD were:
1) The high-density 1.44 MB "SuperDrive" floppy disk drive, which became the standard on Macs and PCs in the 1990s.
2) An internal 40 MB SCSI hard disk drive included by default.
3) A new platinum colored case design, shared with the Macintosh II.
The Macintosh SE FDHD was an important evolution of the compact Macintosh line, adding greater storage capabilities while retaining the classic all-in-one form factor with a crisp 9" b&w display. It bridged the gap between the original 1984 Macintosh and the more powerful Macintosh II series.
