Born in Lübeck (Germany) in 1935, Peter Klasen is a german painter, photographer and sculptor working on the theme of sensuality in industrialisation (the agreeable and the disagreeable). Using an airbrush, the artist contrasts images of industrial objects like pressure gauges and hydraulic circuits, with sexually charged images of nude women. He is a founding member of LA Nouvelle Figuration, with artists Valerio Adami, Erró, Jacques Monory, Bernard Rancillac and Hervé Télémaque. His first solo exhibition took place in 1966, in Paris.
