Prado Enea Gran Reserva 1987 Bodegas Muga - (Haro, La Rioja) Bottle Nº 06074 D.O.: RIOJA Rioja Vintage Rating 1987: VERY GOOD "Most of the grapes come from their own vineyards and the rest from small winegrowers in the Rioja Alta. It is a selection of vineyards that remain unharvested until their best moment of maturation, usually being the last to enter the winery. Each grape variety is vinified separately. Alcoholic fermentation in 10,000-litre wooden vats, without temperature control or the addition of yeast, after which it is transferred to other clean, large-capacity 16,000-litre vats, where it remains for 12 months. Transferred again and aged for 36 months in 590 225-litre American oak barrels, most of them made by the winery's own cooperage. Clarification with fresh egg whites before bottling. Production limited to 174.124 bottles of 75 cl. A minimum of 36 months of aging in a bottle rack in the cellar's drafts before being marketed."
