In 2017, VITAS Portugal – a subsidiary of the Roullier Group present in our country since 1994 – acquired Falua. With more than 25 years of history in the national and international markets, Falua has a vast portfolio spread throughout the world. The Conde Vimioso range is a seal of historical legacy, whose wines assume their own identity. The combination of indigenous with international grape varieties gives birth to enriching experiences based on the character of the terroir and experience, in close articulation with innovation and ambition. WINE VARIETIES: Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon, Castelão & Aragonez. WINEMAKER: Antonina Barbosa. VINIFICATION Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes are de-stemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in wooden vats at controlled temperature of 25º C, following a long maceration. Ageing in new and second year French oak barrels for 18 months. TASTING NOTES Deep garnet-red color. Mineral aromas, prune, wild blackberries and spices on the nose. Soft, with robust and complex tannins which confer great ageing potential. Red fruits blend in the structure with elegance. Ends with persistent notes of black fruits. 2014 QUINTA DA BADULA Red - 4 x 0.75L AWARDS/ RECOMMENDATIONS 16,5 Points Grandes Escolhas DESCRIPTION All of our wines are made with great dedication. The whole process begins in the vineyard, where every care is taken with the aim of increasing the quality of the grapes for our wines. From manual harvesting to the foot-threading on lagar, all processes involve dedication and attention from all members of the organization. Our wines have a phase in the bottle before reaching the market, varying depending on the time range. Are wines with longevity in the bottle taken into consideration. We want consumers of our wines to appreciate the evolution of our wines for a long time. WINE VARIETIES: Castelão & Syrah. WINEMAKER: António Ventura. VINIFICATION According to traditional methods, the grapes were harvested by hand and were carefully transported in boxes and subjected to a rigorous selection at the entrance of the cellar. Fermentation with a controlled temperature (26º), took place in small stainless steel tanks called "lagares", with foot treading. It was partially aged in 225 liter oak barrels. TASTING NOTES Loaded in color, vigorous and full aroma, with rustic notes of green olives and some dried vegetables. Good vigor in the mouth, light menthol appears to give some freshness to the taste, the wine is full of strength and concentration.
