Verenigde Staten van Amerika - WW2 TIME Special '' Red Cross Japanese Surrender Issue - Atomic Bombings & Japanese Surrender - Einstein - 20th August - 1945
The very rare!! and infamous August 20 1945 issue of TIME magazine, featuring the capitulation of Japan, caricatured on the front cover. This was the first cover after nuclear weapons were dropped on Hiroshima (Aug. 5) and Nagasaki (Aug. 9). Because of the red in Japan's flag, a black cross was used instead. The formal surrender of Japan came on Sept. 2. This issue includes specific articles about the Japanese Unconditional surrender, the atomic bombings of Japan and suicides within the Japanese army/political command, as well as the onset of the Atomic Age, with several first-shot foto's of the bombings. This is a very rare issue! See photo's of the content of the magazine; it is complete and in nice condition. Rare WW2 magazine specifically for US troops!
This is a really difficult to find issue of the ''Cross'' Time magazine series on the cover and the Japanese unconditional surrender, which will be nice addition for your WW2 collection!
