Constantinople, circa 674-681 AD
This gold solidus features a compelling depiction of Constantine IV Pogonatus on the obverse, with a legend surrounding the helmeted and cuirassed bust. On the reverse, a potent cross rests on three steps, flanked by Heraclius and Tiberius, both crowned and holding a globus cruciger. The inscription "CONOB" is present in the exergue.
