• The Porsche Design Studio (now Studio F. A. Porsche) was established in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1972 by Prof. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, grandson of the Porsche founder Ferdinand Porsche and designer of the Porsche 911.
• The Porsche Carrera collaboration started in 1979.
• This auction is for a vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5660 11 aviator.
• This sunglasses make a real design impact with the frame's combination of gleaming blond tortoise shell and brushed gold plating.
• Easy to appreciate some subtleties of this design such as the way the two halves of the front frame remain apart, connected by a simple brushed gold nose bridge.
• The inside of one ear stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera along with the impressed serial number while the inside of the other stem is marked Frame Made in Germany 5660 10 56 [] 14.
• 1980s.
