Lot of two Medieval Byzantine Coins:
1. Basil II and Constantine VIII (976 - 1028 AD). Class 2 Follis. Obv: IC-XC to left and right of bust of Christ, facing, with nimbate cross behind head, holding book of gospels, sometimes with dots in centre of book's border, square in each limb of the cross. Rev: IhSUS XRISTUS bASILEU bASILE in four lines, ornament below. SB 1813 (5). Near extremely fine.
2. Romanus IV (1068 - 1071 AD). Class G Follis. Obv: Nimbate bust of Christ facing, raising right hand in benediction and holding scroll in left. Rev: Facing bust of the Virgin, orans. SB 186. Near extremely fine.
