Dorothea Lange (1895-1965) - Young Migrant Mother with Children (signed in negative)
This iconic photograph is part of the "Migrant Mother" series by one of the most influential photographers of 20th century, Dorothea Lange.
Later, Lange gave this account of the experience:
I saw and approached the hungry and desperate mother, as if drawn by a magnet. I do not remember how I explained my presence or my camera to her, but I do remember she asked me no questions. She said that they had been living on frozen vegetables from the surrounding fields, and birds that the children killed.
This fine art quality print is part of an edition 17 of 25 pieces, released in 2022.
The photograph is printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching 310g paper.
Includes a certificate of authenticity.
