The sword dates back to the muromachi era. It has some spectacular details like the double bohi and the horimono that do not end in the nakago, this is possibly because the sword was much longer during that period and in the edo period it was shortened to adapt to the closer combats in the cities that with a long sword would be difficult. The sword has some very slight kizus caused by the forging of the tamahagane at such a young age. Muromachi period swords all tend to have small details that make them clearly authentic and easy to recognise by experienced collectors.
