The certificate paper is included in the set. ・The inscription is carved as follows Bizen Osafune Ju Yokoyama Toshisaemon Fujiwara Sukekane Saku Kimi Banzai(備前長船住横山俊左衛門藤原祐包作 君万歳) Tomonari Gojuhachidaimago Ansei Sannen Nigatsu Kitijitsu(友成五十八代孫 安政三年二月吉日) 【About Bizen Osafune Ju Yokoyama Sukekane(備前長船住横山祐包)】 ・Bizen Osafune Ju Yokoyama Sukekane is the 13th generation counting from Bizen Kuni Yosouzaemonnojo Sukesada, and is Tomonari's 58th grandson. ・Tomonari is one of the representative swordsmiths of Kobizen(古備前), and along with "Sanjo Kokaji Munechika(三条小鍛冶宗近)" and Hokinokuni "Yasutsuna(安綱)", he is one of the three oldest master swordsmiths in Japan. ・He is also positioned as the "founder of the Bizen Swordsmith" or "founder of the Osafune swordsmith. ・Although the Mei indicates that he is the 58th generation of a master swordsmith and a member of a traditional family of swordsmiths, Sukekane himself is also highly regarded and is considered a representative swordsmith of the Bizen smithy in the Shinshinto(新々刀) period. ・Sukekane left his works from around Temho 5 to Meiji 5. 【Blade/condition】 ・This sword is 73 cm long and very impressive. ・Hamon is also powerfully expressed, and this work offers a taste of the beauty of Japanese swords. ・This sword is engraved with not only "Yokoyama Sukekane" but also his common name "Yokoyama Toshisaemon Fujiwara Sukekane", making it a very rare sword. ・Furthermore, it is engraved with the inscription "Kimi Banzai," which suggests that the sword was made to pray for the prosperity of the Tokugawa Shogun's family and has been carefully preserved. ・Therefore, the condition of preservation is very good, and the workmanship is excellent. 【Attention before bid】 ・This is a truly domestic Japanese sword that has never left Japan.
